Textile event adds to event schedule
HIGH POINT, N.C., May 1, 2013 – Celebrating the 47th textile market, Summer Showtime 2013 is set for June 2-5.
As always, there are many networking opportunities at Showtime, giving attendees and exhibitors a chance to relax, mingle and network in an informal atmosphere. Events are free to all, and welcome everyone.
Sunday, June 2, International Market Centers is hosting the “International Pavilion at Showtime” reception at 4:00 p.m. in the Suites at Market Square. Join us in welcoming the new companies from India, Taiwan, and China.
Monday, June 3, celebrates its reception with a “Runway Fashion Show,” from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Suites at Market Square. Participating sponsors include DeLeo Textiles, Glen Raven Custom Fabrics – Sunbrella, High 5, Home Secrets, Keystone Weaving Mills, Inc., P. Kaufmann Fabrics, and Valdese Weavers Inc. Models will take to the catwalk in fashions created from the latest articles introduced by the participating companies. Outfits and choreography are all produced by University of North Carolina – Greensboro’s Threads Department. Join in celebration with food, drinks and music.
International Market Centers will be sponsoring the “Suite Libations” each evening from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. This is located throughout the Suites at Market Square. Stop by and say hello to old friends with a refreshing drink.
Monday, June 3, Showtime kicks off bright and early with Breakfast at Showtime from 7-8a.m., a Made in USA panel discussion hosted by Fabrics & Furnishings International.
Panel moderated by Eric Schneider, editor and publisher of Fabrics & Furnishings International and features: Julie Morris, Vice President, Merchandising, Calico; Rocco Simone, Business Development Specialist, Sunbury Textiles Mills; Claudine Simone, merchandising director Henredon Furniture; Stan Fradin, President, Rockland Mills, Inc.; Darren Fradin, Vice President, Marketing, Rockland Mills, Inc.; Bob McKinnon consultant, Keystone Weaving Mills, Inc.
Showtime attendees will also have the opportunity to attend presentations by CeCe Design Group, Furniture/ Today and Home Textiles Today, Swarovski Elements and web4retail.

A third educational seminar presented by Cathy Valent of CeCe Design Group on Monday, June 3 at 12:00 noon and 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4. A collective color trend overview featuring TrendPulse’s “Retail Round-Up: What you need to know for Spring Home Interiors” and Design Options: “The West Coast Point of View on Color and Home trends for Fall 2014”.
And lastly a social media seminar titled “Pinterest, The New Retail Therapy” will be presented by web4retail on Monday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday, June 4 at 12:00 noon. Presenters Sev Ritchie and Denise Keniston invite all for a discussion on the role Internet Marketing and Social Media play in the retail process.
All presentations will take place on the top floor of the Suites at Market Square 1-200 / 1-300 aisles.
